Everyday grocery shopping and credit card use paid off for one lucky customer after a joint promo by East West Banking Corporation and Puregold Price Club awarded a brand-new BYD Seagull to its grand prize winner.
The winner, 28-year-old virtual assistant Maria Theresa Aguilar from Biñan, Laguna, earned raffle entries through her use of the EastWest Puregold Visa credit card, which allowed entries for both card activation and qualified purchases at Puregold and other merchants.
Aguilar said she was shocked to win, noting the large number of participants nationwide. A regular Puregold shopper, she joined the promo after learning that everyday spending could turn into raffle entries.
She said the electric vehicle will greatly help her family, especially in transporting her father for regular medical check-ups between Batangas and Manila, reducing travel costs and inconvenience.
The EastWest Puregold Always Panalo Visa Raffle Promo ran from April 22 to August 31, 2025. Aside from the car prize, it also offered ₱5,000 Puregold P-Wallet cash credits to other winners.
According to EastWest, entries were earned through both card acquisition and transactions made at Puregold and elsewhere, encouraging everyday use of the credit card.
The bank, part of Filinvest Development Corporation, said the campaign reflects its goal of linking daily spending habits with practical rewards for Filipino consumers.
