The BE Group of Companies has teamed up with COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy, to supply and actively manage power use across its Mabuhay Towers in Cebu Business Park and Cebu IT Park—signaling a more strategic approach to energy in two of the country’s fastest-growing commercial hubs.
Located in prime growth corridors fueled by the expansion of the IT-BPM sector, the towers face rising demand for reliable, cost-efficient electricity as enterprise locators operate շուրջ the clock.
By shifting to COREnergy under the retail competition framework, the Mabuhay Towers gain a more structured energy model aimed at improving cost predictability, customization, and operational performance.
Acting as a “gentailer,” COREnergy matches supply with demand while helping shield clients from market volatility.
Grand Benedicto, president and chief executive officer of The BE Group, said the partnership underscores a shared commitment to Cebu’s long-term growth, highlighting the need for providers attuned to local infrastructure and development dynamics.
COREnergy, for its part, noted a growing trend among businesses to treat electricity as a controllable input rather than a fixed expense—leveraging it to manage costs, boost efficiency, and support expansion.
The deal comes as the Energy Regulatory Commission prepares to lower the contestability threshold to 100 kilowatts by June 2026, broadening access to retail electricity supply and enabling more commercial establishments to adopt similar energy strategies.
