The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has opened a dedicated lounge for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at Zamboanga International Airport to provide comfort and essential services for travelers.
The facility includes air conditioning, charging stations, comfortable seating, a television, and free snacks, coffee, and drinking water. It can accommodate up to 20 people at a time.
The lounge also serves as a service center where OFWs can get information about programs from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), as well as process Overseas Employment Certificates and OFW Passes.
CAAP director general Raul del Rosario said the initiative aims to make OFWs feel valued and supported during their travel.
The project supports the directive of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez to improve passenger services and provide better care for migrant workers.
