Globe Telecom reported strong first-quarter 2026 earnings, with consolidated service revenues rising 5 percent year-on-year to P42 billion, marking its second-highest quarterly revenue performance on record.
The company said data services remained its main growth engine, accounting for 91 percent of total revenues. Mobile data revenues climbed 11 percent to P26.8 billion as internet usage continued to grow across video streaming, social media, gaming, and digital payments.
Globe’s mobile business posted P30 billion in revenues, up 6 percent while home broadband revenues increased 6 percent to P6.2 billion due to stronger fiber adoption. Corporate data revenues also rose 6 percebt to P5.1 billion, driven by demand for cloud and ICT solutions.
Core net income grew 9 percent to P4.9 billion, while EBITDA rose 7 percent to P22.2 billion, reflecting stable profitability despite economic pressures and rising operating costs.
The company allocated P12.7 billion in capital expenditures during the quarter, with most investments focused on network and data infrastructure upgrades to improve service quality nationwide. The results highlight the continued strength of the Philippines’ digital economy, showing that demand for connectivity and online services remains resilient even amid tighter consumer spending and global economic uncertainties. Globe’s performance also underscores how telecom firms are increasingly relying on data-driven services as the backbone of long-term growth and digital transformation.
