Vietnam-based mobility platform Green GSM is ramping up its Philippine expansion after signing agreements with 75 transport companies and cooperatives for the planned deployment of up to 18,497 VinFast VF 5, Herio Green, and Limo Green electric vehicles across major urban centers nationwide.
The planned rollout marks a major expansion phase for Green GSM’s Southeast Asian operations and positions the Philippines as a key market in the company’s regional growth strategy.
Deployment is set to cover Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Cavite, Pampanga, Bacolod, Batangas, Baguio, and Ozamiz, where demand for urban mobility continues to grow alongside efforts to shift toward cleaner transport systems.
Green GSM said the expansion will combine direct investments and long-term leasing arrangements, enabling transport operators and cooperatives to modernize fleets without shouldering the full upfront cost of electrification.
The company added that its model integrates a centralized technology platform and operational standards with local fleet operators and driver networks to support scalable and standardized transport services.
The latest agreements build on Green GSM’s earlier partnership with Xentro Group, which involved an initial deployment of 2,500 electric vehicles in the country.
Industry partners said the initiative could help accelerate the transition to sustainable transport while opening new business opportunities for transport cooperatives and fleet operators.
Green GSM Global CEO Nguyen Van Thanh said large-scale electrification will depend not only on vehicle technology, but also on operating models that can adapt to local market conditions while maintaining consistent service standards.
Phased deployment and operations are expected to begin throughout 2026.
