BPI partners with Visa for faster, more affordable international transfers

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has teamed up with digital payments leader Visa to launch improved cross-border money transfers via its mobile app in the first quarter of 2027.

Running on Visa Direct, the service will let over 4 million active BPI app users send funds abroad with better speed, transparency, and lower costs.

Transfers to destinations like Singapore and the UK will arrive in seconds, while payments to the US, Canada, and Australia will clear within the same or next business day, with fees starting at just USD 5.

BPI officials noted the move answers growing demand from Filipinos working, studying, traveling, or doing business overseas, as digital and cross-border transactions have surged sharply in recent years.

The partnership is part of BPI’s push to expand digital financial tools and keep Filipinos financially connected, whether supporting family, paying for expenses, or managing international transactions.
