PNB exec named among top ASEAN investment selectors for 2026

Philippine National Bank (PNB) has announced that Mark Gieron De Mesa, head of wealth solutions, has been included in Citywire Asia’s Top 25 ASEAN Selectors 2026 list. He is one of eight Filipino professionals recognized this year for excellence in fund selection and portfolio management across the region.

Now in its fifth year, the Citywire Asia list honors outstanding investment experts based on a strict assessment covering performance results, product improvements, digital service upgrades, and overall management quality. The awards were presented during a ceremony on 14 May 2026 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together leading industry figures from all over Southeast Asia.

De Mesa’s recognition highlights his role in shaping PNB Private Banking’s approach, which focuses on innovation, disciplined investing, and putting clients’ needs first. Moving forward, his team plans to expand available investment options, starting with peso-denominated unit investment trust funds (UITFs), followed by US Dollar UITFs and mutual funds. These additions are meant to give clients more choice, professional management support, and better ways to spread risk across different currencies, markets, and asset types—whether market conditions are steady or uncertain.

Maria Teresa C. Velasco, senior vice president and head p of PNB’s wealth management group, stated that the award confirms the bank is moving in the right direction. She added that this achievement encourages the team to keep improving how they serve customers while delivering investment solutions that match changing needs.

This milestone strengthens PNB’s standing in regional wealth management, blending global knowledge with local experience. It also reflects the bank’s core values and commitment to supporting both its people and clients as they work toward long-term financial growth.
