DENR cited as Top 3 Most Improved Agency by ARTA

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has been named among the Top 3 Most Improved Government Agencies by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA). The recognition was given during the Ease of Doing Business Month culminating activity, honoring agencies that delivered faster, more efficient and citizen-centered services from 2024 to 2025.

Assistant Secretary Ruth Manigos-Tawantawan accepted the award on behalf of DENR Secretary Juan Miguel T. Cuna. Secretary Cuna stated that the award reflects the department’s ongoing reforms to improve service delivery while upholding environmental laws. He added that these efforts align with the administration’s goal to replace bureaucratic delays with responsive service that supports the economy and creates opportunities.

A key initiative is DENR Express Permitting on Wheels, which brings environmental permits and services directly to communities and local government units, reducing travel time and costs for applicants. This effort supports Republic Act 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, which aims to streamline processes and reduce corruption in government service delivery.
