Hotel101-Davao is set to begin operations on July 30, 2026, marking its entry into Mindanao as the largest hotel in the region with 519 rooms, DoubleDragon Corp. said.
Located on a 5,384-square-meter prime site along Eco West Drive in Davao City, the property sits about a one-minute walk from SM City Ecoland and will feature concessionaire-operated all-day dining, a fitness gym, a full-size swimming pool, function and conference rooms, and a helipad.
DoubleDragon positions Hotel101 as an asset-light, prop-tech hospitality model that it says is scalable and exportable, forming part of its long-term strategy to build recurring revenue streams through standardized hotel units across global markets.
The brand’s existing Philippine properties, including Hotel101-Manila and Hotel101-Fort, continue to report high occupancy, while its Madrid debut in March 2026 has accelerated international visibility after recording peak single-day full occupancy and over €100,000 in daily revenue.
In 2026 alone, Hotel101 Global is set to add more than 2,200 rooms across Madrid, Davao, Cebu, and Niseko, Japan, positioning the year as its largest expansion cycle while signaling a shift toward sustained foreign currency-denominated earnings.
The company expects its global rollout, including upcoming operations in Davao and Niseko, to reinforce its push toward becoming a major exporter of hospitality services and a key source of dollar inflows for the Philippine economy.
A company statement said the team remains focused on disciplined execution as it scales Hotel101 into a global brand backed by standardized units, recurring revenues, and an expanding international footprint.
Analysts note the aggressive expansion underscores DoubleDragon’s shift from domestic real estate holdings toward a hybrid property-tech hospitality platform, though execution risk remains tied to global travel demand, currency volatility, and the consistency of its standardized operating model across markets.
It also highlights rising appetite for Philippine-origin hospitality brands abroad.
