Lazada deepens MSME drive via digital skills partnership

Lazada Philippines is stepping up its support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), expanding partnerships with government agencies and relaunching its LazGrow Together program to help more Filipino entrepreneurs compete in the country’s fast-growing digital economy.

The initiative reflects the e-commerce platform’s broader strategy of evolving from a sales channel into a long-term business partner, offering structured onboarding, digital training, business tools and marketplace support to improve the competitiveness of local enterprises.

Built around the theme “Grow Your Brand on Lazada,” the nationwide campaign aims to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources needed to establish sustainable online businesses as more consumers shift to digital shopping.

Since October 2025, Lazada has strengthened collaborations with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Science and Technology and Go Negosyo, participating in more than 10 digital upskilling and marketplace readiness programs. The initiatives have already engaged over 300 aspiring brands and sellers while opening access to the DOST’s network of more than 7,000 MSMEs nationwide.

The company has also rolled out practical business tools, including an Excel-based seller calculator that helps entrepreneurs assess pricing strategies, profit margins and overall business viability before launching online.

Lazada said participating businesses can also leverage its LazMall platform, where verified brands and official stores benefit from greater consumer trust and stronger brand visibility.

“MSMEs drive the Philippine economy, and our responsibility is to ensure they are fully equipped to thrive in the digital arena,” said Carlos Barrera, chief executive officer of Lazada Philippines. “Through the LazGrow Together initiative and our partnerships with key institutions, we are helping create a more inclusive and dynamic digital marketplace for Filipino businesses.”

The initiative comes as e-commerce platforms increasingly compete not only for consumers but also for sellers, with digital capability-building emerging as a key differentiator. By helping MSMEs improve their online readiness, Lazada is also expanding the pool of merchants that can drive sustained growth across its marketplace.
