Visa and the Land Bank of the Philippines have introduced a new government purchase card (GPC) that modernize how public institutions manage procurement and spending. The LANDBANK Visa GPC replaces traditional cash advances and manual reimbursement procedures with a fully digital system, offering stronger security and smoother transactions.
Built-in features such as set spending limits, approved merchant lists and real-time tracking help agencies follow rules more easily while reducing administrative work. A dedicated digital expense management platform will also be available by the end of the year, automating tasks from transaction recording and reconciliation to approval processing and reporting, and giving officials clearer data and better financial oversight.
Visa Philippines country manager Jeffrey Navarro said the partnership gives government teams more control and agility to serve the public better. LANDBANK president and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz noted the collaboration brings global standards to advance the country’s digitalization goals and improve accountability. The card will be used for common expenses including small purchases, official travel and recurring costs, with the Bureau of the Treasury among the first agencies to adopt it nationwide.
