The defeat also extinguished the country’s final candle in the MSC, where Philippine teams have long been the standard-bearers, winning four of the tournament’s previous nine editions.
Yangon Galacticos entered the semifinals unbeaten, and for the opening two games looked every bit the juggernaut. Their map control was clinical, their team fights decisive, and the Falcons suddenly found themselves staring at an 0-2 hole that has buried many hopefuls before them.

The Falcons, who had already survived the lower bracket and avenged an earlier loss to Indonesia’s Team Vitality in the quarterfinals, rediscovered the fearless style that carried them this far. The Falcons now shift their focus to the battle for third against Indonesia’s ONIC on Saturday. While the championship slipped away, a podium finish still carries pride—and a hefty payday. Third place earns USD250,000, while fourth takes home USD150,000.
The grand final, meanwhile, guarantees a first-time MSC champion. Yangon Galacticos of Myanmar will face Team Spirit, the Serbia-based organization founded in Russia, in a winner-take-all showdown worth USD1 million.
One thing is already certain. The trophy will have a new owner. Whether it remains in Southeast Asia or begins a new journey beyond the region is the last mystery left for championship Sunday.
