The Department of Energy (DOE) confirmed an across-the-board fuel price rollback starting August 3, ending five consecutive weeks of increases. Prices per liter will drop by P0.73 for gasoline, P0.60 for diesel, and P2.09 for kerosene, though some firms like Jetti set slightly different rates for gasoline. Last week, prices had risen sharply by P3.65 for gasoline, P10.68 for diesel, and P11.77 for kerosene. Energy Secretary Sharon Garin noted the reduction brings relief to households, drivers, farmers, and small businesses, but warned the Middle East conflict remains unstable. She urged continued caution and energy efficiency until a lasting peace deal is reached involving the US, Iran, and Israel. As of July 31, the country’s total fuel supply stands at 45.22 days, up from 44.74 days in late July. Supply levels vary by product: gasoline dipped to 40.50 days, while diesel rose to 47.32 days and kerosene reached 132.86 days. Jet fuel and LPG stocks fell slightly, while fuel oil supply increased. Current prices in Metro Manila average P80.90 for regular gasoline, P90.40 for diesel, and P119.10 for kerosene.
