VP tax, bank records submitted to impeachment court

Several major Philippine banks have complied with the Senate Impeachment Court’s subpoena for bank records linked to Vice President Sara Duterte, marking a significant step in gathering documentary evidence for the proceedings. Senator and Impeachment Court presiding officer Francis Escudero said Bank of the Philippine Islands, Philippine Savings Bank, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co., Security Bank, Land Bank of the Philippines, and BDO Unibank submitted the required documents, although BDO and Security Bank requested additional time to complete their submissions. Escudero also said the Bureau of Internal Revenue turned over Duterte’s tax records after obtaining presidential clearance, expanding the evidence now before the court.
