MacroAsia Corp. (MAC), working in a joint venture with Germany’s Lufthansa Technik AG, has started construction of a new aircraft base maintenance facility at Clark International Airport, expanding its aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations in the Philippines.
The new facility will sit on a 157,000-square-meter site and is set to begin operations in 2028. It will become the second major maintenance hub for Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) in the country, supporting its well-established work at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) where the company has delivered full MRO services for over 25 years.
Built to handle widebody aircraft, the Clark site will include maintenance hangars, a paint shop and non-destructive testing workshops. It will initially serve Airbus and Boeing widebody aircraft, with plans to add capabilities for the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 in the future.
LTP offers a complete range of MRO services to airline clients around the world. It is one of 30 affiliates and subsidiaries under the Lufthansa Technik Group, a global leader in aircraft maintenance and engineering. The company carries out base maintenance checks for Airbus A320, A330, A340, A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, as well as major structural changes, cabin upgrades or reconfigurations, and inspections for aircraft returning from leases.
LTP’s main base operates within an economic zone at NAIA, with additional line maintenance stations in Cebu, Clark, Davao and Kalibo. As of March 2026, the company employs 3,125 people, including highly skilled English-speaking mechanics, engineers and support staff.
