Makati Development Corp. is strengthening its credentials as a high-rise construction specialist after winning the Philippine Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards overall title for the second consecutive year.
MDC, the construction arm of Ayala Land, was named PECCA 2026 Overall Winner, while Ayala Land Premier’s Park Central Towers in Makati won the High-Rise Structures category. The project will represent the Philippines at the American Concrete Institute Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards in October.
The back-to-back recognition highlights MDC’s growing ability to deliver increasingly complex projects while improving construction productivity, safety, and efficiency.
Park Central Towers consists of a 72-storey South Tower and a 59-storey North Tower. MDC served as general contractor, with MDBI Construction Corp. as concrete contractor and MDC ConQrete Inc. as concrete supplier.
The integrated setup allowed closer coordination across major phases of concrete construction, while several technologies helped accelerate project execution.
The development used viscoelastic coupling dampers to improve resistance to seismic and wind forces, automatic self-climbing core wall formwork, guided perimeter protection systems, and lightweight aluminum slab formwork.
The aluminum system reduced manpower requirements and delivered material savings of up to 40 percent through early stripping. Other construction technologies helped MDC maintain a construction pace of about 2.5 floors per month.
The recognition comes as Ayala Land continues investing in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments nationwide, raising the importance of construction capabilities that can deliver larger projects without sacrificing safety or efficiency.
For MDC, the awards are therefore more than industry recognition. They provide a measure of how engineering innovation and closer integration across the construction supply chain can translate into faster project delivery and better resource use.
As Philippine developers take on taller and more technically demanding projects, MDC’s consecutive PECCA wins strengthen its position as a key construction capability within the Ayala Land group.
