Airbnb Inc. reported a nearly 25 percent rise in Gen Z domestic search interest for ber-months check-ins, signaling strong early travel demand from younger Filipinos as the season begins.
Gen Z travelers—those born from 1995 to 2009—drove the strongest search growth. Pampanga and Davao each posted nearly 50 percent higher search volume from this group, followed by Metro Manila, Baguio and Tagaytay at almost 40 percent apiece.
“For young Filipinos, the ber-months can be a time to make plans, get together and find reasons to explore, often without having to travel far from home,” said Amanpreet Bajaj, Airbnb country head for Southeast Asia and India. “We’re seeing a growing appetite among Gen Z for domestic getaways, with familiar destinations gaining renewed interest alongside places that offer something new to discover.”
Family travel is also on the rise. Domestic searches from family travelers for September–November 2026 check-ins rose 10 percent year-on-year. Pampanga led family search growth at over 40 percent, with Metro Manila and Tagaytay up 20 percent each, and Baguio at 10 percent.
Search interest is broadening beyond popular cities to rural and emerging spots. Papaya in Nasugbu saw searches surge more than 60 percent, while General Luna recorded a double-digit increase.
“These trends offer an early glimpse into how Filipinos are kicking off the ber-months: with young travelers leading the way, families also looking to get away, and more Filipinos exploring both familiar favorites and under-the-radar local destinations,” the company noted.
