PLDT Inc. has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering open, credible, and tech-enabled elections as it joined the launch of the PPCRV-AMA Command Center, set to run the unofficial parallel count for the first regular Parliamentary Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Held at the AMA School of Medicine Annex in Makati City, the event gathered key figures from the electoral sector, including PPCRV leaders Henrietta de Villa and Evelyn Singson, Elections Chairman George Garcia, AMA Group Chairman Amb. Amable R. Aguiluz V, and PLDT Chief Operating Officer Menardo G. Jimenez Jr.
Jimenez noted that secure and reliable connectivity is fundamental to election transparency, stating that PLDT’s role is to ensure the network supporting the command center remains robust, resilient, and responsive. This reliable foundation allows volunteers and stakeholders to perform their duties with confidence, and the company is proud to help strengthen public trust in the electoral process. He also shared plans to expand cooperation toward better-informed civic participation, with future voter education programs in the works—especially those aimed at empowering Filipino youth to engage more deeply in elections.
Beyond this partnership, PLDT is providing broader backing for the historic BARMM polls. Its VITRO data centers will host key servers receiving data directly from vote-counting machines, while wireless unit Smart Communications is supplying prepaid SIM cards with load to support coordination and monitoring efforts. These steps build on PLDT’s long-running support for election modernization nationwide.
By leveraging its extensive network, connectivity tools, and data infrastructure, the company continues to equip public institutions with essential digital capabilities, aligning with the country’s digital transformation goals.
