BPI’s Barangay PeraWise Caravan expands financial education in Caloocan

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is expanding community financial education via its six-leg Barangay PeraWise Caravan to boost money skills and household well-being.

Launched at Barangay 176-F and backed by BPI On The Move and Caloocan LGU, the program continues across the city through 2026. The first leg drew nearly 300 residents, who learned budgeting, saving, responsible borrowing, and fraud protection through interactive games, discussions with local entrepreneurs, and booths on savings, digital banking, insurance, and microfinance—supported by BPI Caloocan branches, BanKo, BPI AIA, BPI MS, and VYBE by BPI. It also highlights agency banking for nearby transactions and the 30-Day Ipon Challenge to build consistent habits.

“Financial education works best when tied to daily life,” said BPI Consumer Banking Head Ginbee Go. “We aim to build lasting habits for a more secure future.”

Participants opened accounts and learned formal banking tools. Small business owner Marilou Tadle Misa shared how BPI support—from deposits to credit and loans—helped grow her ventures. The caravan advances BPI’s broader financial inclusion drive toward a “Mas Magandang Bukas” for more Filipinos.
