Green GSM has expanded its electric taxi network to Northern Mindanao, extending its Philippine footprint beyond major urban markets as the company works to build a nationwide electric mobility business.
The company officially launched its all-electric taxi service in the region on Sept. 29, following a trial run that began in late August.
The initial network covers Cagayan de Oro, El Salvador, Laguindingan, Alubijid and Opol, positioning the service for urban trips, intercity travel and airport transfers.
Passengers can book through the Green GSM mobile application or customer hotline, while available taxis can also be hailed on the street.
The expansion follows Green GSM’s earlier rollout in Metro Manila, Central Visayas and other parts of Mindanao, broadening the geographic reach of the emerging electric taxi operator.
“Expanding into Northern Mindanao enables Green GSM to increase our service coverage in a region with strong potential, while giving more residents access to electric mobility with consistent service quality and reasonable costs,” Green SM Global CEO Pham Nhat Minh Hoang said.
Green GSM operates a fully electric fleet using VinFast vehicles. The company said fares are displayed through its application or official in-car meters.
The Northern Mindanao rollout also expands the company’s addressable market by linking Cagayan de Oro with surrounding communities and the Laguindingan airport corridor, potentially supporting both daily passenger demand and airport-related travel.
Green GSM said the expansion is expected to create additional jobs for drivers while supporting lower-emission transportation.
The company plans to further expand its Philippine network and work with local partners to develop what it describes as a scalable electric transportation model.
The Northern Mindanao launch underscores the company’s broader push to take electric taxis beyond the country’s largest metropolitan markets and into regional transport corridors.
