Skyro expands Philippine fintech rewards with cashback

Securities and Exchange Commission-registered fintech platform Skyro is broadening its Philippine financial services offering with a customizable cashback program designed to give eligible customers greater flexibility over everyday spending.

The new SkyroCredit Cashback program allows customers to select four of seven spending categories each month. Options can include groceries, restaurants and fast food, drugstores, online shopping, fuel, bills and education, although available categories and cashback rates may change monthly.

Eligible customers can earn up to 30 percent cashback, with no minimum purchase required. Each peso earned in cashback is equivalent to P1 that can be applied to a future SkyroCredit transaction.

“This is the first cashback program of its kind in the Philippine market, and we believe customers deserve a cashback experience that gives them more choice and control,” Skyro Head of Product Dmitriy Vavulidi said.

The launch follows Skyro’s recent expansion and rebranding, with its SEC registration providing a regulatory foundation for its growing Philippine operations. The company’s latest move also positions rewards as an additional feature alongside its reusable credit offering.

SkyroCredit can be used at merchants accepting QR Ph payments. Customers can scan or upload a merchant’s QR Ph code through the Skyro Philippines app to complete purchases.

The credit line also offers eligible users up to 45 days at zero interest, provided the required interest-free balance is settled by the due date. Available credit is replenished as customers repay their balances.

Skyro said it had more than seven million registered users as of 2026 and a credit portfolio exceeding $200 million.

The cashback rollout reflects the increasingly competitive Philippine fintech market, where providers are using rewards, flexible credit and digital payments to differentiate their offerings. For consumers, Skyro’s category-based approach could make cashback more relevant, while monthly changes mean the program’s value will depend on how closely available categories match individual spending patterns.
