Aboitiz Power Corporation has received official commendation from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations for its outstanding contributions to the region’s energy sector, with special recognition of its work in advancing nuclear energy cooperation, knowledge sharing, and skills development.
The recognition was presented during the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting held at the Philippine International Convention Center, where AboitizPower President and CEO Danel Aboitiz accepted the honor. The high-level gathering brings together energy leaders, industry representatives, and key stakeholders across the region to drive collaboration and share expertise.
The commendation cites the company’s growing commitment to exploring clean energy options, highlighted by the memorandum of understanding signed in July with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. in Gyeongju, South Korea. Under the agreement, both parties will conduct joint pre-feasibility studies to assess the potential application of nuclear energy technologies in the Philippines, marking a significant step in the country’s long-term energy planning.
This ASEAN recognition underscores AboitizPower’s expanding role as a regional energy partner and strengthens its position at the forefront of efforts to build a more sustainable, secure, and diversified energy future for the Philippines and the broader Southeast Asian community.
