Anya Resort Tagaytay goes fully renewable, partners with First Gen for geothermal power

Award-winning luxury property Anya Resort Tagaytay has switched entirely to renewable energy, sealing a deal with First Gen Group to power its entire estate with clean geothermal supply as it marks its ninth year of operation.

The partnership will deliver electricity straight from First Gen’s Unified Leyte geothermal facilities to the 7.2-hectare Roxaco Land-owned wellness and leisure destination in Tagaytay City. The official shift to renewable power took effect in late September 2026, with both sides marking the milestone by planting a narra tree together in the resort’s Tala Garden to symbolize shared dedication to nature and a regenerative future.

General manager Mikel Arriet said sustainability is woven into daily operations rather than just a goal, with cutting energy-related carbon intensity a key priority. Resort manager Melody Amacio noted the move will shrink the carbon footprint while keeping guest comfort fully assured, and serves as both an environmental and sound energy management step.

Anya anchors its sustainable work around three core pillars: caring for the environment through Kalikhasan, lifting local livelihoods and ethical sourcing through Yamanlikha, and honoring culture and community ties through Bayanihanon. The property holds platinum sanctuary certification and belongs to Small Luxury Hotels of the World, recognitions that reflect its twin focus on green practice and premium hospitality.

First Gen head of sales and engagement Arlene Soriano said the company stands ready to back Anya and Roxaco Land in their decarbonization journey, adding it is meaningful to work with partners making deliberate sustainable choices. First Gen’s renewable portfolio spans 31 geothermal, hydro, solar and wind sites totaling 1,700 megawatts, paired with energy efficiency and on-site solutions to maximize clean energy use.
