DigiPlus Interactive Corp. announced Wednesday it is withdrawing from final bidding rounds for New Zealand’s online gaming license, following updated market analysis. The Philippine firm said the move will not impact existing operations or its broader international expansion plans, with focus now firmly on South Africa where it already holds a license from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. Its Brazil expansion meanwhile faces uncertainty after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva issued an immediate-effect provisional measure banning online gaming and fixed-odds betting, though DigiPlus noted the situation remains fluid as legislative processes continue. For the first half of the year, total income rose 16% to ₱9.8 billion while revenues fell to ₱32.85 billion from ₱47.77 billion a year prior; net gaming revenue after tax held steady at ₱5.52 billion quarter-on-quarter. Starting this quarter, the company will use net gaming revenue after tax as its key performance metric alongside user and active bettor figures, aligning reporting with global industry standards.
