The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is set to expand its sustainability efforts and mark a major milestone in its corporate history with a proposed ₱5-billion bond offering. Dubbed the BPI SIBOL Bonds, this issuance serves as the third tranche under the bank’s broader ₱200-billion bond and commercial paper program, with an option to increase the offer size based on demand.
The upcoming issuance carries strong corporate significance, timed to celebrate the bank’s 175th anniversary. BPI specifically structured the bonds with a tenor of one year and nine months—or 1.75 years—as a symbolic tribute to its 175 years of service and ongoing dedication to national progress, customer service, and community development.
Proceeds from the offering will be channeled directly into financing and refinancing eligible green and social projects. This initiative aligns with BPI’s Sustainable Funding Framework and meets the ASEAN Sustainability Bond Standards. Demonstrating its regulatory compliance and environmental focus, the Securities and Exchange Commission officially authorized the BPI SIBOL Bonds to carry the prestigious “ASEAN Sustainability Bond” label on October 20, 2026.
The public offer period is scheduled to run from November 23, 2026, through December 4, 2026. BPI expects to formally issue and list the bonds on the Philippine Dealing & Exchange Corp. on December 16, 2026. BPI Capital Corporation and ING Bank N.V., Manila Branch, are serving as the Joint Lead Arrangers and Selling Agents for the offer. Interested investors can participate by visiting any BPI branch or by reaching out directly to the joint lead arrangers.
