Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. (metrobank) has been named Best Asset Manager and Best Client Services in the Philippines at the Citywire ASEAN Awards 2025/26, adding to a string of industry recognitions for its wealth management and investment operations.
The awards highlight the bank’s investment management capabilities and client support, as financial institutions compete to retain investors amid changing market conditions and evolving wealth management needs.
“Clients entrust us with money they have worked hard to build, and with goals that matter to them and their families. Our responsibility is to bring sound investment management and attentive service to every stage of that relationship,” said Ric Pedrosa, head of Metrobank’s Trust Banking Group.
Pedrosa said the recognition would encourage the bank to expand access to relevant investment solutions and help clients make informed decisions as their financial priorities and market conditions change.
Metrobank Trust offers services aimed at helping clients build wealth and prepare for future financial needs. Its approach combines investment research, portfolio management and client support to guide investment decisions across market cycles.
The Citywire ASEAN Awards cover financial institutions in Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. Their evaluation considers assets under management and administration, product offerings, distribution channels, improvements in service and technology, and market differentiation.
Metrobank Trust has also earned recognition from other industry organizations. It ranked first among Philippine banks and securities firms in the Local Currency Bonds and G3 Bonds categories of The Asset Benchmark Research Awards 2026.
The bank’s Metro$ Short Term Bond Fund was named Best Managed Fund by CFA Society Philippines, while Euromoney recognized Metrobank as the Best Bank in the Philippines for 2026.
In 2025, The Asian Banker named Metrobank the country’s Strongest Bank for the fifth consecutive year.
The latest awards reinforce Metrobank’s positioning in the Philippine wealth management market, although industry accolades alone do not establish investment performance or guarantee returns for clients. For investors, portfolio suitability, risk management, fees and performance over time remain important considerations when selecting a wealth manager.
