Second tranche of CAVITEX toll adjustments takes effect October 28

Starting October 28, 2026, the second tranche of toll rate adjustments for the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension will go into effect, as approved by the Toll Regulatory Board. Covering the route from Zapote, Las Piñas to Kawit, Cavite, the new rates will be P103 for Class 1 vehicles, P207 for Class 2, and P310 for Class 3. These adjustments follow a two-phase rollout, with the first tranche implemented in October 2025, and come from toll petitions filed back in 2020 and 2023 that were originally due in 2021 and 2024.

The seven-kilometer expressway serves over 50,000 motorists daily and is a vital link between Metro Manila and Cavite. To soften the impact on commuters and operators, authorities are bringing back the ABANTE Program starting the same day, offering toll rebates for 60 days to accredited public utility vehicles including traditional and modern jeepneys, UV Express, and buses on authorized routes. A separate rebate program for agricultural transport vehicles will also continue running until November 30, 2026, helping keep food and farm goods moving smoothly.

Operator groups add that the adjustments support ongoing upgrades across the expressway, including bridge repairs in Parañaque and Imus, improved pavement in Kawit and Parañaque, and better RFID and license plate recognition systems to speed up toll transactions for all motorists.
