Globe Telecom has stepped up network preparations in line with the National Telecommunications Commission’s call for stronger readiness and coordination among telcos ahead of the Undas observance this month. The firm expects a sharp rise in mobile use from October 31 to November 2, as crowds gather in cemeteries, memorial parks, transport terminals and other busy spots nationwide.
In a statement, Joel Agustin, Senior Vice‑President and Head of Network Planning and Engineering at Globe, said the company’s network teams have reviewed capacity levels and projected demand in high‑traffic areas to accommodate heavier usage over the holiday period. Technical crews will keep close watch on network performance, manage possible congestion, and remain on standby to fix any service interruptions right away.
Agustin added that Globe will continue to work hand‑in‑hand with the NTC, its regional offices, local government units and other concerned agencies to address connectivity issues as they come up. Keeping service reliable is the company’s top priority for Undas, a time when many Filipinos rely on their phones to stay in touch with family and loved ones while paying respects to departed relatives.
The telco noted that timely coordination with regulators and local authorities forms a key part of its Undas preparations, ensuring people can connect safely even as large crowds move across different areas during the three‑day period.
