The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has teamed up with top logistics provider FAST Group to roll out BPI’s Digital Supply Chain Finance Program for the firm’s suppliers, giving them quicker access to working capital. Launched in 2024, the fully digital scheme lets suppliers get early payment for approved invoices ahead of their due dates, with funding available as early as the same day once corporate‑approved receivables are uploaded to the platform. For suppliers, this extra liquidity helps cover day‑to‑day costs such as raw materials, inventory, payroll and logistics, while also allowing room for expansion and better handling of seasonal shifts in market demand.
The partnership builds on more than 20 years of existing banking ties between the two firms, and forms part of BPI’s growing roster of corporate clients using its digital supply chain finance tools. BPI Institutional Banking head Louie Cruz noted that the program is designed to help major buyers like FAST Group reinforce their supplier networks, with digital financial innovation supporting resilience across the whole value chain. FAST Group Group Treasury and Financial Services head Cesar Villacampa, Jr. added that beyond logistics support, the tie‑up strengthens the broader supply network so partners can operate more reliably for end consumers nationwide. Since its launch, BPI’s Digital Supply Chain Finance Program has seen rapid uptake, with transaction volumes more than tripling in 2025. As businesses look for better ways to manage cash flow amid shifting market conditions, supply chain financing is emerging as a key tool to strengthen supplier links and sustain growth, with BPI continuing to expand access to these digital solutions. While focused first on supplier cash flow and corporate supply chain stability, the improved reliability of supplier operations translates to more consistent service and product availability for Filipino consumers.
