Manila Water urges post-Undas septic tank cleanup, schedules November desludging runs

As families return from Undas trips and cemetery visits, Manila Water is calling on customers to prioritize household sanitation and take advantage of its scheduled desludging services this November. Regular maintenance keeps septic tanks from overflowing, causing bad smells, or polluting surroundings and waterways. The company recommends desludging every five years to protect family and community health.

Desludging runs are set for barangays across Rizal, Quezon City, and Marikina. In Rizal: Bagong Nayon, Sta. Cruz, and San Luis in Antipolo; San Andres and San Isidro in Cainta; San Isidro and San Jose in Rodriguez; and all of Baras and Jalajala. Also covered: Libis, Pasong Tamo, Roxas, Santo Cristo, and Valencia in Quezon City; plus Tumana and Malanday in Marikina.

“Make household sanitation part of getting back into your regular routines,” said Manila Water’s Dittie Galang. Collected sludge goes to proper treatment facilities so waste won’t harm rivers. Residents in scheduled areas may ask their barangay officials or call hotline 1627 for exact schedules. Joining in helps keep communities clean and healthy as everyone settles back in after the holidays.
