The six-country ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) Golden Arrow Awards has cited local fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corp. for its adoption of sustainable, responsible, and transparent business practices.
Organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors, the ACGS commits to raise the corporate governance standards and practices in the country by recognizing companies that demonstrate observable conformance with the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance and internationally recommended corporate governance practices espoused by the ACGS.
The recognition via the Golden Arrow Awards, measures a company’s performance in areas as facilitating the rights and equitable treatment of shareholders, ensuring transparency through timely disclosure of material information and monitoring how the board guides the company strategically and its accountability to stakeholders.
“We are honored to be recognized by the ICD for good corporate governance, affirming our continuous efforts to strengthen our responsible business practices as an organization,” Jollibee president and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong said.
“We are inspired to work even harder in further integrating ESG strategies into our actions and decisions so we can keep on serving great-tasting food and bring the joy of eating to our customers sustainably,” he said.
Tanmantiong leads an ESG Council, short for environmental, social and governance, within the group that was established to ensure alignment of business operations with the company’s Sustainability Agenda.

“We share this recognition with all our teams and our business partners, and we will continue to collaborate with them in various aspects of our company’s sustainability,” he said.
