    Hong Kong supplier backs Alternergy wind projects in Rizal, Quezon Province

    Alternergy Holdings Corp. and subsidiaries are pursuing wind power projects in Rizal and Quezon province.

    The company told the Philippine Stock Exchange that subsidiaries Alabat Wind Power Corp. and Alternergy Tanay Wind Corp. have full-service onshore and offshore turbine supply and coordination agreements with Envision Energy International Trading Ltd.

    According to Alternergy Holdings, contractts were signed Thursday, 1 February, for the design, engineering, manufacture and delivery of wind turbine generators with rated combination capacity of 6.5 MW and 8 MW, including a 10-year service and maintenance arrangement.

    Alternergy Holdings only last year eyed building 350 MW in three to five years broken down into 33 MW solar, 220 MW onshore wind and 50 MW run-of-river hydro projects.

    More recently, Alternergy completed assessing the offshore wind energy service contracts of Shell Overseas Investment B.V. pursuing offshore wind projects in the Philippines.

    The study found as promising three of the four sites evaluated and may be further pursued.
