The Philippine Statistics Authority will spend P55.5 million this year to conduct monthly surveys on household, commercial and government sector inventories of rice and corn—data that are need to determine national policy and government action.
The monthly surveys aim to generate regional and national inventories of rice and corn stocks within the commercial and household sector and assess the stocks levels compared with the same period in the previous month and year.
The data to be generated will provide a comprehensive overview of the country’s rice and corn stock situation and will serve as inputs to the estimation and compilation of national accounts.
The surveys will cover 9,863 sample establishments and 17,619 sample households–10,957 farming and 6,662 non-farming–nationwide. The data collection activities will be conducted during the first four days of each reference month and the results of the survey is scheduled to be released 10 days after the reference month.
