UnionDigital names Danilo Mojica as new president, CEO

UnionDigital, one of the six Bangko Sentral ng Pilinas-licensed digital banks in the country, said Tuesday long-time business executive Danilo “Bong” Mojica will take over on 1 August as president and chief executive officer of the digital banking unit of Union Bank of the Philippines.

Mojica, currently a director of UnionDigital, will replace Henry Aguda, whose resignation was accepted by the digital bank’s board effective at the start of August to allow him time to turnover his duties and allow for a smooth leadership transition.

Mojica brings with him over 35 years of local and international C-level corporate and consulting experience in various fields and industries, like FMCG, airline, telecommunications, financial services and in financial technologies.

“We respect Henry’s decision to pursue opportunities that are more aligned to his personal development goals, and we wish him the best. Our appointment of Bong, who is close to UnionDigital’s business and operations as a board director, will ensure continuity and the uninterrupted execution of the bank’s plans for growth and its strategic initiatives,” said Justo A. Ortiz, chairman, Union Digital Bank board of directors.

Aguda also resigned as senior executive vice president of Union Bank. His resignation was accepted by Union Bank’s board and will take effect 1 October.
