Global ride-hailing app InDrive on Tuesday projected rounding the year with twice the number of partner-drivers in Metro Manila.
“Our monthly active user base is growing. By the end of the year we will have a few thousands more. The most important thing here is the base growth we are seeing. It means that the business model is actually alluring to both passengers and drivers,” Natalia Makarenko, InDrive marketing director for Asia Pacific, said.
She acknowledged the Philippines is one of its key markets in Asia Pacific where even now they prepare expanded operations in two to three cities.
“We’re working hard with our partners to enlarge our drivers’ base because we understand it’s not only business development but also providing income opportunities for those drivers who want to earn a decent amount of money,” she added.
Mohamed Khalil, regional driver acquisition and activation team lead at InDrive, said the company targets to on-board 16,000 partner-drivers in Metro Manila by year end.
“We plan to grow rapidly but 16,000 partner-drivers will be nice to have,” he said.
InDrive, which started operations in June, has 8,000 partner-drivers. It operates in over 700 cities in more than 46 countries.
But even as it steadily expands in the Philippines, inDrive remains loyal to its pledge to promote the welfare of its partner drivers, passengers, and the broader community with its “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” campaign, a joint effort with transport group Laban TNVS.
“We have always believed in the power of mobility to transform lives. Our strategic goal for 2030 is ambitious but clear: to positively impact the lives of over 1 billion people worldwide,” Makarenko said.
“We aim to achieve this by continuously driving change through innovative mobility solutions and community-driven initiatives that resonate with the needs of the people we serve,” she added.
Laban TNVS president Jun De Leon shared, “We are glad to continue working closely with inDrive to create initiatives that reach out to drivers, and this campaign enables us to do just that.”
“Laban TNVS has always been committed to assisting our brothers and sisters in the TNVS community, and we are pleased that inDrive shares the same goal. Rest assured, we will remain vigilant in fighting for justice, fairness, and equality in the industry, while promoting the safety of our roads, drivers, and passengers,” he added.
