PLDT Inc. has appointed Menardo G. Jimenez, Jr. as executive vice president and chief operating officer effective September 17, 2024.
Prior to this appointment, Jimenez served as senior vice president and network head of the company.
He also served as Consumer Business Home Advisor from 2022 to 2023, Consumer Business Home Head from 2019 to 2022, Deputy Business Transformation Office Head from 2017 to 2019, Human Resource and Development Head from 2009 to 2019, Retail Business Head from 2004 to 2009, and Media Communications and Public Affairs Head from 2001 to 2004.
Jimenez earned his AB Economics degree from the University of the Philippines.
He stepped down as president of GMA Network in 2001 to join the telecommunications and digital services provider soon after.
PLDT earlier reported net income of P18.41 billion in the January to June period, slightly down from P18.45 billion in the same period last year.
In the second quarter alone, PLDT’ net income dropped 8.7 percent to P8.5 billion from P9.4 billion last year.
Telco core income, excluding the impact of asset sale and losses from Maya Innovations Holdings, reached P18 billion, up 3 percent from the same period last year.
PLDT consolidated service revenue grew 3 percent to P96.9 billion in the first half of 2024.
