Potato Corner, the kiosk-based food brand acquired by listed Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. in 2022, has expanded its store network to 2,000 outlets globally with the recent opening of a new outlet in SM Cebu. The store is operated by franchisee Por Fin Trading Corp.
The newest Potato Corner store introduces an experiential format featuring an expanded menu that includes friescream, exclusive flavors, and signature beverages. The store design allows for a larger footprint, incorporating dedicated retail space for Potato Corner-branded merchandise.
Known for its signature flavored fries, Potato Corner started as a modest food kiosk in 1990 and has since expanded to 15 markets worldwide, partnering with over 800 franchisees.
Por Fin Trading expressed pride in its achievement, calling it “a testament to our brand’s hard work and the love our guests have for Potato Corner.”
Since the entry of the Shakey’s Group, Potato Corner has opened over 700 new stores and outlets, with 359 launched in 2023 alone.
Vicente Gregorio, president and chief executive officer of Shakey’s, said the milestone not only marks a successful acquisition but also highlights the company’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship through its franchise network.
