Globe Telecom Inc. has enhanced its network infrastructure in Zamboanga City by adding four new towers and expanding in 111 sites.
The investment underscores the company’s commitment to empowering local communities through technology, according to Joel Agustin, Globe senior vice president for service planning and engineering.
Agustin said, “By enhancing connectivity, we aim to drive economic growth, support local industries, and improve quality of life for residents. Improved mobile and internet services will enable farmers to access agri-tech solutions and allow tourists to share their experience in real-time, increasing the city’s appeal as a travel destination.”
Zamboanga del Sur, where the city is located, is known for its fertile land and strong agri-fishery industry which employs a majority of its residents. The region also boasts of popular tourist attractions like Pulacan Falls and Once Islas.
Additionally, Globe’s upgrades support local disaster preparedness initiatives, ensuring reliable communication during emergencies. This investment not only strengthens economic resilience but also enhances access to government services, contributing to the region’s overall development.
