EastWest Bank announced on Monday that since the relaunch of its Visa Platinum Credit Card, new card bookings have more than tripled, accompanied by a notable increase in monthly billings. The bank said that the card’s performance in shopping, dining, and travel has significantly surpassed expectations, aligning well with the lifestyle preferences of its target market.
Mia Tamayo, senior vice president and head of the cards business group, emphasized the need for the card to evolve alongside the bank’s customers. “Our recent refresh was designed to offer more than just rewards—it delivers a complete experience for cardholders,” she said. The card’s recent recognition as the Best Cashback Credit Card by The Asian Banker underscores this commitment to meeting discerning customer needs.

The updated Visa Platinum now offers an enhanced cashback program, increasing rates for dining and department store purchases from 3 percent to 8.88 percent. Cardholders can also earn cashback in expanded categories including online shopping, food deliveries, travel, fuel, and utilities. With a comprehensive cashback rate of 8.88 percent in select categories and 0.30 percent on all other transactions, the card is positioned as a leading lifestyle credit option, featuring benefits like up to P20 million in travel accident insurance, elite perks, and dedicated concierge service.
