VITRO Sta. Rosa boosts network diversity with new infrastructure activation

VITRO Inc., a subsidiary of ePLDT and the data center arm of PLDT Inc., has officially activated the network infrastructure of its 50-MW VITRO Sta. Rosa (VSR) data center, marking a key milestone in its network readiness. This move enables telco partners to establish their points-of-presence (PoP), enhancing the facility’s network diversity and redundancy.

The activation is set to provide clients with tailored connectivity solutions, supporting the growth of hyperscalers, enterprises, and public sector organizations. Partners like PLDT, Radius, Eastern Telecommunications, and Converge ICT are among those set to activate PoPs at the site.

Victor S. Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc., emphasized VITRO’s commitment to building “hyperconnected” data centers that foster innovation and resilience. With a focus on telco diversity, VSR plans to activate 52 telco racks by the end of the year, expanding to over 200 racks as demand grows. Each rack will have access to three diverse Points of Entry (PoE), ensuring high network reliability.

VITRO has also partnered with Ciena to enhance inter-data center connectivity, enabling secure, high-speed links between VSR and other Metro Manila sites. This collaboration supports a multi-site disaster recovery strategy, reinforcing VSR’s status as a premier hub for digital infrastructure in the Philippines.

As part of PLDT’s broader vision to position the Philippines as a leading hyperscale investment hub in the Asia Pacific, VSR is poised to play a pivotal role in the country’s digital transformation, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
