PhilTower, PNP team up to boost telecom security and community trust

Phil-TowerConsortium Inc. (PhilTower) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strengthen the telecommunications infrastructure while prioritizing public safety across the Philippines. The alliance combines the PNP’s public safety mandate with PhilTower’s technical expertise, setting a new standard for community-centric technological development.

The collaboration aims to ensure that telecom tower sites adhere to the highest safety and security standards. Both will conduct rigorous site inspections and compliance checks, guaranteeing the essential structures are secure, resilient, and dependable for local communities.

“As digital dependence grows, safe and reliable infrastructure is essential,” said Kalvin Parpan, chief government relations and external affairs officer of PhilTower and MIESCOR Infrastructure Development Corporation (MIDC). He said the security framework, which includes a dedicated team of former Armed Forces personnel, will be further strengthened through the partnership with the PNP.

PhilTower’s president, Devid H. Gubiani, reiterated the company’s commitment to safety, noting the telecom towers serve not only as critical infrastructures but as assets that benefit the community. With the recent merger of PhilTower and MIDC, the partnership is poised to solidify its position as a key player in the country’s telecom infrastructure sector.

This collaboration highlights the importance of integrating public safety into technological growth, ensuring that digital services are both accessible and secure for all Filipinos.
