PHINMA Education Acquires St. Jude College for P432M

PHINMA Education Holdings, Inc. has successfully acquired St. Jude College located in Dasmariñas City in a P432-million deal, marking the entry of the education subsidiary of listed PHINMA Corp. into the Cavite market and expanding its presence in Southern Luzon.

The acquisition, completed on Friday, gives PHINMA Education a 94.62 percent stake in the  college, adding 3,000 students to its growing network.

The acquisition brings PHINMA Education’s total number of schools to 10 in the Philippines and 12 across its regional network, making it Southeast Asia’s largest private higher education group in terms of enrollment. SJC Dasmariñas Cavite, a key addition, further strengthens PHINMA Education’s commitment to making education more accessible to underserved communities.

“SJC Dasmariñas Cavite aligns with our mission to provide quality education to youth who need it the most,” said Happy A. Tan, PHINMA Education country chief-Philippines. “This acquisition enhances our footprint in Southern Luzon and opens new opportunities for students in the region.”

The acquisition follows PHINMA Education’s recent partnership with private equity firm KKR, which is expected to fuel further expansion. “We will continue to grow and reach more learners, uplifting families through education,” said Dr. Chito B. Salazar, PHINMA Education president and CEO.
