PLDT successfully pursues collective bargaining agreement for 2024-2

PLDT Inc. and the Manggagawa ng Komunikasyon ng Pilipinas (MKP) have successfully concluded their collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations for the 2024-2027 period. The deal, formalized through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed under the supervision of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), will take effect on 9 November 2024 and remain in place until 8 November 2027.

The agreement is now subject to ratification by MKP members over the next 60 days.

The conclusion of discussions comes at a time when PLDT demonstrated solid financial performance. The telecommunications giant reported net income of P28.1 billion in the first nine months of 2024, a one percent year-on-year increase. Its core income also showed a positive trend, rising 2 percent to P26.6 billion during the same period.

PLDT gross service revenue grew by 4 percent to P155 billion, with consolidated service revenue climbing 2 percent to P144.9 billion. The company’s wireless segment showed steady performance, with individual wireless revenue reaching P62.1 billion, up by 2 percent year-on-year.

In terms of its fixed-line business, PLDT Home’s fibr-only service revenue amounted to P41.7 billion, while PLDT Enterprise generated P36.1 billion in net service revenue.

The new CBA paves the way for continued industrial harmony between the company and its employees, while PLDT remains focused on maintaining its strong financial trajectory in the increasingly competitive telecommunications sector.
