GSIS spreads holiday cheer with P1.5 million Christmas raffle

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) celebrated the holiday season with a heartwarming raffle event, awarding a total of P1.5 million to its members and pensioners. During the festive “GSIS Touch and Win” Christmas raffle, 300 winners — 210 active members and 90 pensioners — each received P5,000 in prizes.

GSIS president and general manager, Wick Veloso, led the ceremonial draw, emphasizing the raffle’s dual purpose: to promote the GSIS Touch app and spread holiday joy. “This is not just a raffle, it’s part of our digital transformation,” Veloso said, noting that GSIS services are now 98 percent digital, with 70 percent accessed via mobile phones.

The winners, many from the education sector, had their prizes credited directly to their GSIS eCard accounts. The raffle was part of a broader campaign to increase app adoption, with entries earned through app downloads and transactions like loan applications. Since its launch in 2020, the GSIS Touch app has attracted over 1.6 million users, offering a variety of member services.

The draw was closely monitored by GSIS’s internal audit team to ensure transparency. Veloso wrapped up the event by expressing his gratitude to the GSIS staff, thanking them for their dedication to improving the lives of its members and pensioners. “This is our way of giving back,” Veloso added, ensuring that the festive spirit of giving was felt across the organization.
