Berde Renewables Inc., a local renewable energy developer, has formed a strategic joint venture with Thai engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, Power Systems and Solutions Co. Ltd. (PSS), aimed at accelerating Thailand’s clean energy transition. The partnership focuses on deploying solar photovoltaic, battery storage, and hybrid energy solutions to meet the rising demand for sustainable power across industrial, commercial, and grid-scale applications.
While specific projects and locations were not disclosed, the venture will initially operate 18.9 MW of assets, with an additional 30 MW under construction and 170 MW in the pipeline. The joint venture has set a goal to develop, own, and operate 300 MW of renewable energy projects over the next three years.
The collaboration is poised to boost Thailand’s renewable energy market by integrating solutions that boost energy efficiency, improve asset management, and extend the lifespan of key infrastructures. PSS brings significant regional market expertise, while Berde Renewables offers a global perspective, reinforcing the project’s commercial viability and impact on decarbonization efforts.
Berde’s involvement in previous projects, such as the installation of a 2.6 MW rooftop solar system at Big E Food Corp.’s facility in Bulacan and a 729 kW solar power system at Magic Mall San Carlos, highlights the company’s growing presence in the renewable energy sector.
This venture signals a significant step toward advancing sustainability and reducing carbon footprints in Thailand’s energy landscape.
