Sia, Tan Caktiong top off Hotel101 Madrid

Mang Inasal founder Injap Sia and Jollibee founder Tony Tan Caktiong marked a major milestone on April 11 with the topping-off of the 680-room Hotel101-Madrid—just 11 months after construction began. The hotel is set to open in December 2025, in time for the highly anticipated Formula 1 Grand Prix in Madrid.

Once completed, Hotel101-Madrid will be among the five largest hotels in the Spanish capital. The development sits on a 6,593-square-meter prime commercial property recently acquired by Hotel101. The location, along Avenida Fuerzas Armadas in Valdebebas, places it at the heart of one of Madrid’s most dynamic and strategic districts.

DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II (middle) explains to chairman Tony Tan Caktiong the latest update on Hotel101-Madrid, which was topped off last week. Also in the inspection tour is Hotel101 Global chief executive officer Hannah Yulo-Luccini.

The hotel is just a 3-minute walk from the Valdebebas Train Station, 4 minutes from the IFEMA Convention Center, 5 minutes from the Real Madrid Sports Complex, and about 7 minutes from the new Madrid Barajas International Airport. The area is surrounded by major landmarks and infrastructure, making the hotel ideal for both business and leisure travelers.

Hotel101-Madrid marks the brand’s first foray into Europe, part of the broader international expansion strategy of DoubleDragon Corporation, co-founded by Sia and Caktiong. The project is also a flagship under the Hotel101 Global brand, which aims to establish a consistent, technology-driven hotel experience across major international destinations.

With construction progressing ahead of schedule, the Hotel101-Madrid project is poised to become a benchmark for fast, efficient, and high-impact property development in Europe’s hospitality sector.
