Manulife Philippines and its brand ambassador Erwan Heussaff have launched a new video highlighting local environmental conservation and sustainable livelihood efforts in Quezon Province. Now available on FEATR’s YouTube channel, the video showcases initiatives such as mangrove restoration and reforestation of the Sierra Madre, spearheaded by Manulife and the Haribon Foundation.
Driven by its global Impact Agenda, Manulife emphasizes nature-based climate solutions, recognizing the link between a healthier environment and healthier communities. Since 2022, Manulife and Haribon have planted over 21,250 native trees across 17 hectares in Luzon and aim to plant 15,000 mangrove seedlings in Quezon over three years—essential for protecting coastlines regularly hit by typhoons.
Haribon’s ridge-to-reef strategy connects mountain and coastal ecosystems, supporting both biodiversity and livelihoods. Heussaff, who visits cacao entrepreneurs from Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) in Real, Quezon, highlights how environmental restoration efforts have empowered local women and strengthened community resilience.
“Protecting forests and mangroves not only secures natural resources, but also Filipino food traditions and livelihoods,” Heussaff said. Manulife Philippines CEO Rahul Hora emphasized that the initiative aligns with the company’s mission to drive inclusive economic opportunities while accelerating a sustainable future.
