Shop & Share: Uplifting lives together

The SM Store’s flagship advocacy program, Shop & Share, continues to strengthen its role in uplifting communities across the Philippines, reaching nearly 90,000 individuals—including students, women, farmers, and children—with essential retail items tailored to their needs.

Launched with a symbolic donation of shoes, the program has since broadened its scope to address critical areas in education, livelihood, and health. Key contributions include 31,000 pairs of shoes, 11,000 learning toys, 1,200 agricultural tools, and 5,000 hygiene kits. For School Year 2025, Shop & Share will distribute 15,400 back-to-school kits to over 70 public schools nationwide, leveraging the network of 77 SM Store branches.

“Shop & Share enables our customers to take part in purposeful giving, reflecting SM’s commitment to be a catalyst for positive change,” said Jonathan H. Ng, president of SM Retail, Inc. “Rooted in bayanihan, we connect generosity with real community needs.”

Shop & Share collaborates with other SM brands for broader reach, including:

    • SM Stationery (back-to-school campaign),
    • SM Fashion (Share Shoes),
    • Toy Kingdom’s Toy Express (Share a Toy),
    • SM Beauty (family essential kits),
    • and Globe through SMAC (Hapag Movement to fight hunger).

In December 2024, the program distributed 6,000 educational toys to SPED schools and typhoon-hit areas through partnerships with World Vision Philippines, Good Neighbors Philippines, and the Rotary Club. Additionally, its Tech Education initiative, launched in September 2024 with Mastercard, established four digital learning hubs, benefiting nearly 10,000 students and teachers with improved access to computers and digital learning.

Aligned with SM’s mission of social responsibility, Shop & Share exemplifies how corporate platforms and customer engagement can drive lasting impact in the areas of education, health, and livelihood across the country.
