Cebu Pacific adds more flights ahead of holiday rush

Cebu Pacific is ramping up its international operations ahead of the Christmas travel surge, announcing increased flight frequencies to four major destinations: Bangkok, Da Nang, Sapporo, and Melbourne.

The Gokongwei-led carrier revealed on Monday that it will add flights between Cebu and Bangkok (Don Mueang), increasing to four times weekly starting 26 October, with a new Sunday flight. Flights from Manila to Da Nang will grow to 10 times weekly from 28 October, with twice-daily service on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Cebu Pacific will also launch daily flights between Manila and Sapporo beginning 10 December, capitalizing on strong demand for travel to Japan’s winter capital. Additionally, the Manila-Melbourne route will be boosted to five weekly flights starting 12 December, with a new Friday service.

“These additional frequencies reflect Cebu Pacific’s ongoing commitment to provide more accessibility, flexibility, and convenience to our valued passengers,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer. He emphasized that the move also supports tourism, business growth, and regional economic ties.

The added flights strengthen Cebu Pacific’s footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, where it currently operates across 37 domestic and 26 international destinations. The expansion comes amid rising travel demand and reflects the airline’s strategy to capture peak-season traffic while reinforcing its position in key markets such as Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia.
