The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global tech firm Kintsugi to establish a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the Philippines’ digital transformation.
Under the agreement, Kintsugi plans to invest in the development, construction, and operation of a state-of-the-art data center in the country. The initiative seeks to strengthen the nation’s digital backbone, improve service resilience, and meet the growing demand for secure and reliable data services for government, businesses, and communities.
The MOU also paves the way for joint efforts to modernize public service delivery through the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.
Kintsugi, known for its work across industries including AI, renewable energy, and aerospace, brings its expertise in sustainable innovation to the partnership. The collaboration is expected to accelerate the digitization of the public sector and enhance the Philippines’ position in the global digital economy.
